Day 56 of Biggest Loser Challenge 2

April 10, 2011 is the 56th day of Biggest Loser Challenge 2, Sunday.

"Spa Day"

At 6:30 am, hubby and i headed to Quezon ave to meet my MIL for a half day spa treatment at ACE Water Spa in DelMonte QC. Had breakfast at 7-11 then commute to Ace water spa..

Breakfast: 2 wheat raisin bread and cappuccino latte from 7-11

By the time we arrived, it was 8:30...

Ace Reception Area
2 months ago, i was able to get a promo for Ace Waterspa adult pass for only 299. Regular pass is 550, so it was a very good deal. It was from cashcashpinoy.com. It's easy. I just ordered for the deal, then paid it thru bank(BDO), then i got a confirmation that my voucher is ready to print, and this is what i presented to Ace.

And so i did. It was easy. Upon entering the main door, the receptionist were already there to accomodate us. I presented the voucher, filled up some names and then we're set...
clean locker rooms

My MIL changed into our swimsuits and headed to the spa.

First activity that i did was to do a 30 minute lap. Together with my hubby, we stayed on the lap pool for 45 minutes. Swimming was one activity hubby and I enjoyed very much. We were once members of the 505th Search and Rescue team and we were able to learn some water safety and rescue techniques. But that was 6 years ago.. and we tried to refresh our strokes everytime we get an opportunity...

The lap pool was not yet crowded at this time, so we had each lane to ourselves... I did a combination of freestyle and breast stroke and scissors.  After 30 minutes of continuious lapping, i thought it was time for a massage...

So hubby and i headed to where MIL was and started trying each massage area..

As per Ace, there are 25 massage systems around the area, for the whole body. Since it was early, and the pool are was not that crowded, we tried the massages one at a time. The system on the massage areas were well thought of. You can never stay too much on an erea coz it will strain your muscle. With the automatic timer of the facility, the massage will stop and you'll know that times up. and you move on to the next..

Most of my fave massages was the rain accupuncture. You lay down on your chest and a even rain fails onto your head, back and legs. You could feel the pressure of the water on your muscles and you just lay there and relax...
2nd favorite was their herbal pool. AFter trying out all the massages, MIL and i headed to the hermal pool area. There are 3 kinds, Mint, Jasmin and Lavander. All with special benefits as you soak your whole body.

What's exciting about going to the herbal pool was that you have to soak your whole body for 5 seconds into the cold pool before you soak your self slowly into one of the pools. And as you dip down your body slowly into the herbal pool, you would feel a tiny-needle like pressure onto your skin, because the herbal pools have temperature ranges of 38C-40C. But as a precaution, so as not to increase your blood pressure, because of the high temp, their is a cold steel rod, that you have to rest your nape on, to regulate body temperature...

We tried the 3 herbal pools, one after another. And after the 3 hot soak, we took a quick cold shower, then tried the sauna for 5 minutes..

We did this cycle twice, but on the 2nd time, instead of sauna, we tried the steam. And i think, we stayed there longer than the sauna.

FRESH AS EVER!!!
It was already 11:30 then, since we still have 30 minutes more, MIL and me soaked our legs on the Lavander herbal pool, and talked some more about life...

By 12pm, we headed to the shower room and ready ourselves for checkout. Before we headed out, MIL noticed a weigh scale by the door, so we tried it out. They say hydrotherapy massage have slimming benefits, so i tried it out... My weight registered at 58.06kgs. I can't believe it! i lost almost 2kgs after hydrotherapy massage! But i still have to check if i really lost weight tomorrow on our official weigh in... If i really did, i will definitely come back...

our complimentary soup
They gave us complimentary soup tickets before we left. And since, were already there, we tried dining on their Ace Cafe Lounge.

I ordered a Baked Fish Fillet with mixed vegetables and rice. I was planning to eat the fish and vegetable alone, but the dish was delish. I ate it all up. The whole order! It was too pricey for 180 rice topping meal for one, but when i tasted it, its definitely worth it. I just have to skip dinner again for the extra calories from the rice and the white sauce.

Baked Fish Fillet
All in all, it was a good experience. Good facility, good massage, good company and good food.I'm giving Ace Water Spa a 5 star rating for that... The experience was worth your money.. I can't wait to come back with my kids for them to try the amenities for kids...

We headed home clean and refreshed....

Dinner was 1 bowl of Nestle Fitness Cereal with Nuts. Day 2 of my 14-day program.
